Aikido is a modern non-aggresive martial art, and we train in a dynamic and safe environment.
We are a new Aikido club starting up in the Minato-ku area of Tokyo, and are part of Aikido Kenkyukai International (AKI) headed by Takeda Yoshinobu Shihan.
Our aim is to practise aikido in the local community in the way inspired by Takeda Shihan, and is open to beginners and advanced aikidoka alike. Our training is movement based and gives an energetic and aerobic workout.
While the classes are taught mainly in English we hope to build an international group leading to a further exchange of cultures.
Aiki GAIA Classes - Open to All
The Aiki GAIA school was started to extend Takeda Shihan's Aikido training to all and to support society through the spirit of Aikido.
Classes are led by Takeda Shihan and senior AKI instructors. The classes are open to anyone to join, and regularly take place on public holidays at the AKI Hombu dojo in Higashi-Totsuka.
For those wishing to join in the classes further details can be obtained by contacting us through
